WHO ARE WE?

Mission Statement

"Our mission is to cultivate and champion the sport of figure skating. We shall be an informational source and guide for skating activities that encourage personal growth, giving our skaters opportunities to achieve their skating goals in a welcoming and safe environment."

Who Are We?

We are the largest skating club in Silicon Valley and our skaters are truly the backbone of our club. We range from 5 years of age to 80 and represent all levels and disciplines of skating. The joy of skating is lifelong!
In 1981, three independent San Francisco Bay Area figure skating clubs joined to form the Peninsula Skating Club. The Silver Edge Skating Club of Sunnyvale, the Crystal Springs Ice Skating Club of Redwood City, and the El Camino Skating Club of Belmont merged in a single club of remarkable harmony and energy.
Although relatively young by skating standards, the Peninsula Skating Club has a proud history of supporting local, regional and even international competitions. The brightest jewel in Peninsula's crown came in 1992 when PSC hosted the World Championships at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. Then, in both 1996 and 2018, Peninsula hosted the United States Figure Skating Championships at the San Jose Arena.
At the national and international level, Peninsula has an impressive list of competitors, including Debi Thomas (in the early stages of her career), Rudy Galindo and Brian Boitano. In 2014, Polina Edmunds participated in the Sochi Olympics and Karen Chen in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. Karen was also the 2017 US National Champion.
